This sermon is part 3 of a series called, "When in Romans," and the title comes from a book by Beverly Roberts Gaventa. Greg Taylor of The Journey: A New Generation Church of Christ, draws from 30 years of reading Romans and studying with scholars like James Walters, Rick Oster, and researching in original Greek and the context of Rome, where he has visited twice and seen ancient ruins. Greg also draws from sources such as N.T. Wright and what some might call the new perspective on Paul, which is in brief form the understanding that Paul is writing as a Jew who is not trying to establish a new sect but trying to bring together Jews and Gentiles into one new Israel through faith in the resurrected Messiah Jesus. In today's podcast, Greg defines sin differently from how you might have heard it before.
